FAQ

Who Is This For & When Do I Start?

Is Your Program Only for First Time Parents?

No! Although many 1st time parents are attracted to the program many clients decide they need something different for the 2nd or 3rd time around after having a birth experience that they KNOW could have been better if they had been armed with more knowledge and the necessary skills to advocate for themselves. Sadly, some even experienced traumatic births. They know they want a better experience the next time around and I help them become confident to get it!

Do You Support One Type of Birth Experience?

No! The only common denominator is that you’re planning a hospital birth where 98.5% of births occur. Over the years I’ve learned that each parent’s ideal birth experience is so different! Some want to avoid unnecessary hospital interventions and try to labor as “naturally” as possible. Some prefer to get an epidural at the earliest possible moment and others are aiming for a non-medicated birth but would be open to an epidural if they’re so inclined depending on how their labor unfolds. I have no judgement about your goals!

When Should I Start Your Program?

Since the program is personalized we can accommodate your schedule based on how far along you are in your pregnancy but in general most clients begin the program towards the end of their second trimester or the beginning of their third trimester. (Between 25 and 32 weeks) But even “last minute” clients can get the help they need!

Are the Sessions Virtual?

Yes! I’ve found clients love the convenience and privacy this affords.

Are the Sessions 1-on-1 or in a Group?

Our sessions will be completely private, just you and me!

Should My Birth Partner Attend the Sessions?

This is completely up to you and something we’ll discuss together. Some are in on every moment while others choose to have their partner attend some of the sessions while others choose to keep the support all to themselves! It’s something we plan together.

How Many Coaching Sessions Do I Get?

In my experience I’ve found that 4-6 Sessions are ideal to get you where you want to be!

How Long is Each Session & How Often Do We “Meet”?

Each Session lasts 60 – 90 minutes. How often we meet depends on how much time you have between starting the program and your estimated due date. You’re in charge of what frequency feels right for you, your partner and your schedule.

How is the Program Personalized to My Needs?

We’ll quickly assess your knowledge base in many of the vital areas and based on your birth goals we’ll come up with a plan of action that will be an efficient use of our time together so you won’t have to waste any precious time or energy on things you already know or things that aren’t applicable to your goals! You’ll discover everything you need to know about the labor process, navigating the hospital system, and advocating for yourself.

How Do I Communicate With Lisa In-Between Sessions?

We use the voxer app for voice messaging as well as text messaging! Although I promise a 24 hour response time many are delighted to get immediate responses. This ongoing support, resource sharing and reassurance is KEY to your success! Everyone loves this but clients who have been through the IVF process particularly appreciate this aspect of the program.

What if I’m Not Feeling More Confident After Our First Session? Do You Offer a Refund?

I do! I’ll ask you how you’re feeling at the end of our first session. If you can’t honestly say that you’re breathing a bit easier, see a light at the end of the tunnel, feel as though you have all your ducks in a row to feel more confident, I’ll refund your fee and we’ll end our sessions. I’ve yet to have to issue one, which is why I’m confident in offering this guarantee!
